It was removed because its large hitbox made players, especially with the SLIGHTEST delay (or full blown lag) undefeatable.
Myself and Opti learned how to run from a kowbat without lag, but the SLIGHTEST lag made it impossible to defeat.

Ironically, I have yet to see consistent DoubleBlad (Btw, where's the e?) players on. It's mostly all Lanternman, which was also over used in BOTS!! Ugh, nothing is more annoying than a room full of 7 Lanternmans.

It's not the trans that bothers me, it's the noise it makes and it's over used. I have to turn off my volume if I encounter too many Lanternmans in one day.
