Title: Lv 258 speed run guide
Post by: Thornz on December 31, 2013, 05:02:37 PM
If you want to finish the map in the quickest way possible, please refer to the attached map I made.

A 3+ player team is best.  Everyone should help clear the first wave. After that, have 1 person do the 2nd wave, and 1 person do the 3rd wave, and any other players push the scalper near the bottom left. If more than one player helps with waves 2 or 3, it usually just makes things harder.

Exp rates:
All rates assume that you have T3, guild buff, and member. If you don't have member, divide by 2. If you don't have guild buff, divide by 1.2

258 hard on a 3x day:  139,164 exp
258 hard on a 2x day:  92,776 exp
258 hard on a 1x day:  46,388 exp

On 3x exp you can push all 8 trigger mobs without going below exp cap (and several extras if you need to).

On 2x exp you can push 7 mobs without going below cap. If you push 9 you will still get 64,943 exp, which is very close to cap.

Hope you enjoy!

ps: I made this map from memory, so if a few of the placements/mob types are incorrect, I apologize. Everything you need to know IS correct, though.

Yea then unzoom a bit and it works :D

Also you should add something about pushing/exp. Also tell how Hard/Medium/Easy only effect the Bosses attack damage to the players and not it's (or any mobs) HP. Also add how when it is on hard (as long as you can reach max exp when its on medium) then you can push a lot more mobs without losing exp.

I hadn't really considered making a complete guide. I was just telling people how to complete it quickly. That's a good idea :) .  I'll work on it in a bit.

And I didn't know that it doesn't increase mob health on hard mode. Are you certain?

I know for a fact that hard mode doubles mob and boss hp on 172. I would assume that the same goes for 258

Updated the guide with exp rates, and started adding pushing info.  If someone could scale my map and post the code for me to add, I'd really appreciate it (I'm not at my laptop atm).

What should we divide by if we don't have T3?

You only need to kill 2 mobs in the 1st batch (after wave 2 scalp), not 3.  ::)

@Ross which 2? The nimba and...?

The Slammer directly left from the Nimba. Not the one closest to scalper / box..

Just jump hit it when you enter the wave, causing you to lure both the Nimba and Slamemer you need to the edge.  ::)

Updated the map with correct triggers (thanks ross for pointing out the extra mob I had included by mistake)

Also resized it. I found out that my PS was showing me the image at 33.3%, so it looked a LOT smaller when I was making it (lol). It should be readable now....

You are forgetting about other mobs in ur pushing calcs. When you finish the wave (in 258 case kill the boss), all the remaining mobs on the map will fly backwards and die. Or in the case it's back as against a edge and was close enough (depends on fly back) it will fall. If that mob falls down it counts as a push. So if ur gonna go all out pushing you will have to make sure you watch out in the first and second bulk waves where you only kill a few, in the case there are mobs that can fall. Also on the boss wave there are a few mobs that fall (Nimba north of boss in middle, and Nimba at left side. )

Anyways dunno about ur exp rate there. A 10% reduction from pushing reduces ross' exp by almost 10k (65,535 to 55,660) on x3.

65,535 - 55,660 = 9,875 exp. (10% of max exp.)

Thus multiply it by 10: 98,750k exp on x3, with t3, and member. and guild buff.  ::)

I calculated all rates based on the base exp, which is 6,903 for 258 according to Allie...

Eh when i push the boss the other mobs only fall after it's death so their deaths do not count. If they did, I would have lost exp but I never do.

If you go and kill the boss, the mobs will fly. If they happen to fall, yes it will count as a push and will lower the exp. Go and test if you want. ::)
