Amg look at that, now you have a better understanding of how evolution works. That's a simplified take on one of the aspects of the evolutionary theory but it should suffice. If you want another example, take a gander at redheads. They're dying out because that red hair trait isn't necessarily desirable/dominant. Evolution is more of a filtering process than a magical one.

@ Xrow: Do you really think God (assuming God exists [I beleive in a higher power as well incase you were wondering]) would be so vindictive as to bar people from Heaven simply because they they believed in X more than Y? I highly doubt a higher power that's presumed to have created the entire universe and everything/everyone in it would care about something so trivial. What if Tom was raised in a society where the theory of creationism is unheard of, would God turn him away too?

This was exactly the thing in my mind, natural selection is what causes evolution, the animals best suited to their environment go on to reproduce and pass down their traits, and the ones that aren't die out and their traits are removed form the gene pool.
