Title: Lucid Dreaming
Post by: GavinGill on September 20, 2010, 02:16:29 AM
Do any of you make an effort to achieve lucidity in dreams? I can become lucid but when I try to change anything, I usually wake up. If I force a dream within a dream I'm almost guaranteed to be able to take control of the surroundings but only to a limited degree. Tips?

There's something about water and lucid dreams, I think. I used to know a lot about them, but I forgot when I gave up on them.

I think it takes me like 5mins to do it, but basically if you can induce daydreaming you can start a lucid dream... Thats as simple as I can explain it.

Look it up to get the general idea and then you can figure out what works best for you. It's pretty cool though, the first one I ever had I tried to fly but failed. I could jump around though and I sh;t you not, it felt like being on a roller coaster. :P

Lucid dreaming is pretty much when you figure out you're dreaming but mentally telling yourself to stay asleep instead of waking up like you normally would. Do w/e the **** you want then; punch an old lady, drop kick a baby, or swing around like Spiderman.

Been trying to do that for a while now but I usually fail. Unless I come across someone in the dream, nothing happens. I read that if you look away for a few seconds you can force someone to appear in your dream but it hardly ever works for me. :[

I used to research about random stuff like this.
I used to lucid dream regularly whenever I fell asleep.
It's easy once you get used to it.

Best thing to do is when you realize you're dreaming, knock yourself out so you don't get excited and wake up.
Srsly I'm not joking, it works.

Rub your hands or spin around to stop yourself from waking up.

I can control my dreams o.O  Weird thing but if I want to wake up in my dream I fall asleep....in my dream, and it's happened numerous times.  Other times depending on the dream whenever I'm having this crazy awesome dream and it ends (sad face) it often continues where it left off the next night.  Another thing is that I can change the theme of the dream by just completely changing the subject like a horror dream turned into some random fairytale... .-.  Dreams are fun.

I do it all the time although I can never remember how the dream actually started off. Most of the time it is random crap and every time I wake up I think why the **** was I dreaming about that.

I rarely become lucid while in dreams; however, when I do, I tell myself not to open my eyes. This usually enables me to stay asleep and then perform whatever I want (I was better at this as a child); lately, I can't materialize anything that I need. Moreover, I find it hard to even become lucid in the majority of my dreams D:.

Lots of times I just sit there, breathing. Then I start thinking about breathing, and what it would be like not to breath, and before I can do fun stuff I wake up from loss of air. D;

Does anyone ever randomly flinch when they're sleeping? I HATE THAT.

Mhm, it's the "falling feeling"
People talk about it alot.
Even if it's not actually falling, like for instance
Once last year i fell asleep in health, (class is boring as shit...)
and i had a dream that i was locked in a jail cell for something i didn't do.
So i attempted to kick the cell open, and right when i did it in my dream,
I kicked the kid in the desk in front of me as hard as i could. It was pretty hilarious,
Embarassing too.
