no they're just connecting to servers close by via the internet to improve ping, the speeds are still the same wherever u connect to across the world

Connecting to servers near them. Besides if they did not, there would be too big of a difference between to call it a "comparison." For example if you were to just compare it to Florida, there will be a big difference (loss of speed) between each person based on how far they are, thus leading to unfair advantages (if people are closer) and disadvantages (if people are further away.) Best way to test it would be by similar distances. Ex: Fastest speed connection to a server at 1-100 miles away, and fastest speed connection to a server at ~3000 miles away. ::)
