Off Topic / Leaving For Awhile
March 06, 2011, 03:14:39 PM
I can't take the heat, so I'm getting out of the shower. (Yes I used that cliche) The past few days have shown me that nothing matters in this community except what the highest up guy/girl has to say in the end, don't take this as whining I could care less that I got demoted I saw it coming from the beginning. So back to the actual subject of the thread, I'm leaving for awhile a month or two maybe, until I feel some worth in actually playing this game again. Might go back to be iunno. I'll hang around the forums a little just for the times when I feel the need to post something. So here's the list of people I'll thank for the times I've had here:

ICECOLD (You've Always Been There Through the Bad and Good)
Lady Ice (For being cool headed when I wasn't)
Surgeypurgey (For being a cool friend straight up until you weren't)
Tricky (For giving me something to do without completely ruining the game for me)
Meta (For being cool to me even during Rede vs Silence guild wars you were like "Who cares?" :3)
Robo (For being the guy that still played with us and was nice during those guild wars and even now in joining us Gramps this goes for you too)

If I've forgotten you please let me know

Further player harassment.

Suggestions / Personal Shops
March 05, 2011, 07:35:13 PM
Make it so that when you hit "Marketplace" it'd bring up a page where it asked if you wanted to create a shop or search shops when you created a shop make it a form like the post making form So instead of subject "Shop Name" and where you would put the message you could put the description, then you could select whether you wanted people to bet on your items or just buy them at a set price. You'd only be able to select items that were in your inventory. This would also give a use to botstract as you could make it the currency for these new personal shops.

What was your point in doing it? You have to deal with normal members bullshit, and are expected to be more polite then them. You are expected to take GM/Admin decisions without question and you can do nothing about it, so what was you're reasoning in wanting to be a forum mod? Try not to post here if you've never tried to be one o.o

What do you think of flaming as?

I'm going with urban dictionary on this one: To engage in an online argument usually involving unfounded personal attacks by one or more parties.

Off Topic / In rememberance of Pearl Harbor
February 19, 2011, 02:35:22 AM
The attack on Pearl Harbor (called Hawaii Operation or Operation Z by the Japanese Imperial General Headquarters and the Battle of Pearl Harbor) was a surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on the morning of December 7, 1941 (December 8 in Japan). The attack was intended as a preventive action in order to keep the U.S. Pacific Fleet from interfering with military actions the Empire of Japan was planning in Southeast Asia against overseas territories of the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the United States.
The base was attacked by 353 Japanese fighters, bombers and torpedo planes in two waves, launched from six aircraft carriers. Four U.S. Navy battleships were sunk (two of which were raised and returned to service later in the war) and the four others present were damaged. The Japanese also sank or damaged three cruisers, three destroyers, an anti-aircraft training ship,[nb 2] and one minelayer. 188 U.S. aircraft were destroyed; 2,402 men were killed and 1,282 wounded. The power station, shipyard, maintenance, and fuel and torpedo storage facilities, as well as the submarine piers and headquarters building (also home of the intelligence section) were not attacked. Japanese losses were light: 29 aircraft and five midget submarines lost, and 65 servicemen killed or wounded. One Japanese sailor was captured.
The attack came as a profound shock to the American people and led directly to the American entry into World War II in both the Pacific and European theaters. The following day (December 8 ) the United States declared war on Japan. Domestic support for isolationism, which had been strong, disappeared. Clandestine support of Britain (for example the Neutrality Patrol) was replaced by active alliance. Subsequent operations by the U.S. prompted Germany and Italy to declare war on the U.S. on December 11, which was reciprocated by the U.S. the same day.
Despite numerous historical precedents for unannounced military action, the lack of any formal warning by Japan, particularly while negotiations were still apparently ongoing, led President Franklin D. Roosevelt to proclaim December 7, 1941, "a date which will live in infamy".

Off Topic / In rememberance of 9/11
February 19, 2011, 02:32:40 AM
The September 11 attacks, often referred to as September 11th or 9/11 (pronounced as "nine eleven"), were a series of coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda upon the United States on September 11, 2001. On that morning, 19 al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners. The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and many others working in the buildings. Both buildings collapsed within two hours, destroying nearby buildings and damaging others. The hijackers crashed a third airliner into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C. The fourth plane crashed into a field near Shanksville in rural Pennsylvania after some of its passengers and flight crew attempted to retake control of the plane, which the hijackers had redirected toward Washington, D.C to target either the Capitol Building or the White House. There were no survivors from any of the flights.
Nearly 3,000 victims and the 19 hijackers died in the attacks. According to the New York State Health Department, 836 responders, including firefighters and police personnel, have died as of June 2009. Among the 2,752 victims who died in the attacks on the World Trade Center were 343 firefighters and 60 police officers from New York City and the Port Authority. 184 people were killed in the attacks on the Pentagon. The overwhelming majority of casualties were civilians, including nationals of over 70 countries. In addition, there was at least one secondary death—one person was ruled by a medical examiner to have died from lung disease due to exposure to dust from the collapse of the World Trade Center.
The United States responded to the attacks by launching the War on Terror, invading Afghanistan to depose the Taliban, who had harbored al-Qaeda terrorists, and enacting the USA PATRIOT Act. Many other countries also strengthened their anti-terrorism legislation and expanded law enforcement powers. Some American stock exchanges stayed closed for the rest of the week following the attack, and posted enormous losses upon reopening, especially in the airline and insurance industries. The destruction of billions of dollars' worth of office space caused serious damage to the economy of Lower Manhattan.
The damage to the Pentagon was cleared and repaired within a year, and the Pentagon Memorial was built adjacent to the building. The rebuilding process has started on the World Trade Center site. In 2006, a new office tower was completed on the site of 7 World Trade Center. The new 1 World Trade Center is currently under construction at the site and, at 1,776 ft (541 m) upon completion in 2013, it will become the tallest building in North America. Three more towers were originally expected to be built between 2007 and 2012 on the site. Ground was broken for the Flight 93 National Memorial on November 8, 2009, and the first phase of construction is expected to be ready for the 10th anniversary of the attacks on September 11, 2011.

General Discussion / Boutcheetah - Mac (Download)
February 17, 2011, 07:29:32 PM

Since I haven't been able to get contact with Red or Allie I'll post this here, this will let you run Boutcheetah on Mac. The downsides are I don't know how you would get it out of fullscreen mode, and most of your commands will not work while playing it. Other than that it's just like the Windows Client.
