That's the exact definition of a hipster. ie. Someone who likes something just because it's underground, dislikes something just because it's mainstream, and denies being a hipster because they above it all when it comes to social cliques.

Also, "emo" isn't a a social clique; you're thinking of "scene." There's a difference.
