but.. but... if the books are so much better..  wouldn't reading the book and then seeing the 3rd movie be more disappointing then just seeing the 3rd movie?

but.. but... if the books are so much better..  wouldn't reading the book and then seeing the 3rd movie be more disappointing then just seeing the 3rd movie?

let me put it that way:

trough the three books, katniss goes into an amazing course of emotion, that affects her so much it makes you feel like her. since the ending of the third book is basically tied to katniss' state of mind, not understanding and feeling her will make you enjoy the story 1/10 of how it would have been if you read the books

trust me, i had to split the third book in smaller parts because i couldnt take all the emotions togheter and become depressed irl

to me (always read books before movies) movies are a nice way to go trough the whole story and enjoy it again if you dont want to read the book again (for example you finished it not too long before) and matching how you imagined the characters and the environments with real images. but not to understand the story fully

also if you saw the movie and read the book afterwards, you'll be amazed of how many details and new things you discovered; and ask yourself "how could i be stafisfied of the story by just watching that?"

Meh. There are other, better things to see. People tend to overhype movies such as Hunger Games that is popular in cinemas just for a short amount time. Good movies are something to remember and this one it will be forgotten in 5-10 years, if not earlier.

Really, Iri? The books started off great, but I was disappointed with them by the end. Each book became more and more focused on the romantic aspect, and it turned into a massively overdone love-triangle between Gale, Peeta, and Katniss. Too lovey-dovey for my tastes... As for the movie, I haven't seen it as of yet, but hopefully it's more of an eye-catching action film with sections of romance, rather than the other way around.

oh rly u must be so romantic because i very much noticed katniss' emotional breakdown that yeah starts due to the love triangle but goes on for other reasons for example another edition of the damn games XD also not sure if you noticed again but theres the remains of usa divided into the two weirdest factions ever fighting to death for freedom or oppression and katniss is totally emotionally-destroyed by that imo but maybe you didnt XD hi bobo btw
