Think of it as siccors, paper, rock.

Patch>Ram: Patch has TA/TD while Ram has TS/TG, so pretty much a Ram is a sitting duck in this case.
Ram>Surge: Ram's TS/TG would help against a fast Surge with evade. Even if the surge decides to counter attack, the trans will do much more damage against it.
Surge>Patch: It's obvious, Speed/Evade>TA/TD/Critical.

That's my theory. Btw this is based on a typical bot of each type, not something like a Surge with TA/TD equips or a Patch with evade, etc.

^ Surges can usually outrun Ram, so your logic is flawed, and Surge has a hard time getting around Patches Block+Upper combo, I generally own patches on a ram but have a hard time on surge.

Surge > Ram
Patch > Ram
Ram < All

Surge >< Patch, defends on player

I personally use ramhax for everything.I just suck with patch and the surge's speed is kinda too much for me.
