The cover art of the gameboy pokemon games kicked the most ass.
They got progressively worse.

Agreed
I completely agree. It's because at first the creature sprites were designed to be scarier. Now, it's for little kids, so there are ice cream cone pokemon.
Its all bad -- what are you talking about?

You have no creativity.
This was demonstrated on MSN earlier.
Keep in mind the game cartridges are getting smaller, too, so they have less space to work with.

You mean, I don't have the creativity of a 5 year old? :]

I was referring to the box art; the cartridges was just an additional point.
Box art is shit. I could have done better.
I agree :3

That's just advances in technology. They went from fat battery draining gameboy color cartridges to sd card- like DS cartridges. + graphics and everything is much better. They actually have more space to work with in a more smaller cartridge size.
Agreed @ topic. But not just the covers, but the repetitive plot lines are starting to fall into place while playing the actual games. Shit really started going bad after Pokemon Emerald.

I was talking about the art ON the cartridges.
@ Allie - Yes, then. They just made them look more... epic in the originals, somehow, even compared to the remakes.
How come my FireRed game is different? Mine's not transparent, it's just dark stoneish grey. Maybe that's why it's broken. >_>
They've all been transparent since Pokemon Crystal and up to DS games.
Fire Red and Leaf Green aren't in some cases. The LG in that picture isn't, and my FR is the same way.
Gold and Silver made the genre what it is today.

Blue and Yellow were the shit. Silver was good. Other gens. looked fail so I didn't play them.
By the way, I've seen some people play the old pokemon games on the gamecube. How do I do that? :3

You will struggle to even find an original copy of pokemon red/blue/yellow/silver/gold/crystal.
^I have every one of those in a pencil box with my original Gameboy color.

I have Yellow/Gold, and together with my siblings we have all of them except Red/Blue. If I count cousins, we have multiple versions of all of them.
PLUS I have the ORIGINAL Gameboy, before the colour, as well as the colour, and every system afterwards (excluding the many editions of the DS).
I used to have Pokemon Diamond on my DSi and completed it...but someone stole it. So I bought a 3DS.

Back in the day when gameboys were often sold, color played all the originals so there was no real point to get the original.
So here I am with a color.
trolllloololol nerds.
