I've been saving them as jpeg. Should I continue doing this?
a png copy and a xcf copy
what's an xcf copy?
I have a GFX folder in my pictures.
Six folders in said folder;
Backgrounds - any image made to be a desktop background
Renders - self explanitory
Sigs - self explanitory
Userbars - home-made userbars
Other - any type of art that doesn't fit into the other categorys
XCF Files - backups of the xcf of every single piece that went into the other folders.
Sometimes I skip an xcf if it's something extremely simple but that's rare.
Every single thing I've ever made (excluding about 2 months where I didn't backup and my computer crashed) are in these folders.
You should do something like this if you plan to do GFX; keep track.
xcf is like a psd for gimp.
png is higher quality than jpeg. use that ;).
I always save a xcf (psd on ps) so that I can go edit my gfx'es.
Always save the xcf or psd. Always.
I save them in jpg too and im pleased with the quality.
