If you download a cracked version of fraps, you can record more then just 30 seconds.
I'd say fraps is definitely the best, if you don't want it, I suggest HyperCam.

I once recored Dawn Of War (a strategy game) with a cracked version of Camtisia Studio. After I finished recording I maxed the resolution and it was pure HD ! Fraps is good too for games, just look for a crack and it should work perfectly, or try finiding camtisia which is also awesome.

but be careful if you use fraps since the recorded files take alot of space

^is the reason you using smth like camtasia to render it down.

Camtasia Studio is really good But you have to pay for it.. You can torrent it but i do not reccommend it to you.
Good thing about camtasia is you can choose the Resolution size you want and if you want it 1080p ect.

Another good one is use is CamStudio Which is free and HD but it has no use for recording  unless you have them in window mode.
