Hello, that is because your client is missing one of the map preview files, I would suggest running the "Full Patch" in the download section above, as it will install every update that boutcheetah has ever had.
You can't see chat because it's color is black and since the map preview thing is corrupted or ruined it only shows a black background
thus making the chat and the background blend
