Notice the yellow sentence, which appears to be the sentence, that reveals the drop of the box.
It's probably just a very rare bug that's not fixable. Basically the game has already started without you. Maybe your internet died for 1-2 seconds then came back, at the exact moment the room master pressed start. Either way, I've actually never seen this happen so I do not think it will affect anyone at all, just once-in-a-life-time-unknown-events.
