Yeah, I'm bored and this forum is kinda dead when I post. I want to stir a decent debate up on these forums because I know many of you are intelligent enough to support an argument.
Couldn't think of anything else but here we go.
Do you think 'Cyber Bullying' is considered and/or as effective as 'regular' bullying?
I believe yes because there have been many cases in which people actually gone through drastic measures as to inflicting damage to themselves or suicide due to people bullying them over the internet.
Yes, because bullying is attacking mostly your mind then your body. So it doesn't matter how the bullying is manifested[rl/cyber] cause if you're a sensible person or you get mad fast it affects you the same.:)
Cyber bullying is worse.
To build on that, it's even easier to blackmail, and blackmailing is often to a more severe level psychologically.

Haha, what the ****, no. I'd rather get emotionally destroyed by a forum or text messages rather than being scared of walking into a fist wherever I go in school or some gay shit like that.
make events for sector only worst event idea ever
Cyber bullying isn't effective at all except if you are mentally weak.
Who cares what a peson says when you don't even know that person irl ?
Or who cars what a person from another country thinks at all

Baldy.
Remember? ;D
Just because I kicked you out of the room for saying it doesn't mean it bothered me irl.
Stay ontopic.
You can't really say if you've not experienced it before.
I've not been bullied nor cyber bullied but I'd think being bullied in real life would be worse. If someone cyber bullies you, switch off the pc. In real life, a brick in the face can't be turned off.

@anti, we are ontopic, it's a random debate thread, and we're debating if Neo got upset when I "cyber bullied" him or not.
Well ya ofc I had to say sth if you're "bullying" me, still doesn't mean I was upset irl lol

It really depends on the situation. On a random forum like this, cyber-bulling might not phase you much. But say for example, someone posted embarrassing photos of you on Facebook or constantly harassed you on there in front of your peers, that could really do some damage. It's also easy to fool people by making photo edits with PS, GIMP, etc so you could easily tarnish someone's reputation by photoshopping their face onto the body of some porn star.

Well, in social networking like Facebook, you could say to your friends that the photo was edited and not an original one. So the reputation won't get affected. An easy way to counter it.

Oh, yes. Everyone will believe you. You could say the same thing about an unedited picture, to try and cover up. You expect people to believe you anyways?
If it's in the situation that Gavin explained, it could be much worse. Word spreads much faster through the Internet, so once it's on Facebook, or sent by email, or something else, many will know about it. That will likely translate into other bullying at school or elsewhere. Cyberbullying essentially magnifies "normal" bullying, imo.
