Title: Are mods a future possibility?
Post by: xbaras on September 13, 2012, 09:08:28 AM
How is the staff going with coding Boutcheetah? Will it one day be possible to make mods for Boutcheetah? I already have ideas and I'd be more than happy to make my own mods  :)

Mods as in modifications? Models? Because texture modifications are already possible as you may know ;o

imo bc is not the type of game that can be modded farther than texture and at the veary least model editing, unless it's an update like dm would be.

I mean mods like player-created maps, mercs, enemies and all the deeper stuff.  Think about it, the players who make mods would have fun creating things that may even appeal to the admins. Who knows? maybe someone will find out how to make mini-maps in game and add new .bsc / .obj files.

Of course, don't get me wrong. It's not going to happen like players just get given the source code and can screw around with it all they like without permission, but after permission has been given and code has successfully been checked maybe players would be able to release it or give it to others. There could even be a thread voting for the best mods.

Basically, all I'm asking is if any of this has the slightest chance to actually happen.

Boutcheetah is a private server without a source, what are you expecting to get?
more then a modification could be possible but im not seeing that happening.
