I think that they should have a lot better stats. Memberflag/Zylonflag>TopGuild flag
They are for show, much like Liger, Deadkitten and (E) sets/transes.

Touche, but wouldn't the best players want the best stats to grind?

Usually the "best players" buy member therefore they can buy Member Flags.
They aren't the best players for being in the top 5 guilds. Take sunshine as an example - Keum was the best grinder and a lot of people leeched off him. Should they get flags that are more powerful than a staff/members flag? Or the people who joined with 0 gp just to get a OP flag
I just think that the people in the top guilds have earned it. Maybe the top 1 guild should get a good stat flag.
Back in BOTS, the more you worked, the more you were recognized simply. The best grinders only rewards were to be recognized as the best grinders. It's kinda the same here, the only "OP" item you can 'earn' via playing and being skilled is Jura, since you have to rack up gigas to buy it from a player unless you bought it for perm. Oh and perm jack (and all other powerful high lvl items). But you don't have to be skilled to get those if you just merchant.
Point is, skilled players have never really gotten an OP item as a reward in the BOTS community's history.

Be recognized for things you do, not for things you have.
