Atheists are generally more likely to help out for the sake of helping someone (rather than doing it simply because they want to secure a spot in heaven) and less likely to use their unwarranted self-righteousness as an excuse for ignoring someone's plight. "OMG A MUSLIM'S RIGHTS ARE BEING INFRINGED? OH WELL, THAT TERRORIST HAD IT COMING!!!1! What? He's a *insert some other religious follower*? OMG YOU CANT DO THAT!!" I could have worded that better but I'm tired and hungry, you should get the gist of it though.
