I believe that's when they were allowing people to try it for free a month ago.

Otherwise it's always been P2P even for their non-member worlds which is just where people would go to pvp without fear of ancients and god armors or power fish.

free trial was on 25th of may and it was for 2 weeks

I started playing it in july and there were like 6 f2p worlds.  I've watched updates n stuff on osrs and none was about f2p worlds going down

Why not just contact Jagex? if you're that bothered by it. Last time i remember it wasn't f2p at all, but hey i haven't played in a while.

I think that was a limited time thing that they did to try and get more people to play. I think they did extend it some and I think its over now.

They had the f2p worlds before. I think they are mostly for wildy pvp.

F2p worlds are permanent but only for new accounts for 2 weeks.
After that you pay for member or start over with a new account.

I'd suggest buying membership anyway because f2p is only 15% of what the game has to offer.
If you need help with anything just pm here.

^ + i'd recomment just getting the free membership item using gps. It's easy to gain and once you have member you can earn in back in a day or two at the least.
