Tip 3: It has something to do with time and it ends in "w".
Quote from: spiderstar on December 31, 2011, 09:46:45 AMGet a better render.Quote from: mhj on December 31, 2011, 09:30:04 AMThe "shining" thing is part of the render, so idk how to get rid of it lol.
Text is not good. The shinning thing on the gun takes to much focus imo. The render could use some more blending as well.
Quote from: antisickness on December 30, 2011, 11:56:27 AMNever knew you could do that lol....more stuff to learn from you I guessQuote from: tanqq on December 30, 2011, 11:50:49 AMQuote from: antisickness on December 30, 2011, 11:43:19 AMI tried to fix the oversharpening on his head but I failed to do so and screwed up big time D: I basically copied you like blurring the front and back, sharpening the render and pentool stuff. The gradient map stuff is so damn hard to use lol, I have to duplicate it like 10 times and set them on different opacities and modes to add the desired effect on specific places. I am actually quite happy how the sharpening of the body works but not the head
This would have been kick ass if the render wasn't as blurred (not sure if its your fault) and if some things was a bit sharper.
Ya need to work a bit more on the gradient maps aswell but that comes to you as you progress.
They key to this depth thing is blurring and keeping focus on the right places. It seems alot of things here are blurred but not much is in focus.
Keep at it :]
@ mhj - The 2nd border is actually a screw up but if you like it...
Gradient mapping might be harder on GIMP... On PS, there's an adjustment layer which you can have a separate gradient map. I have a feeling on gimp, you gotta apply the image then gradient map it. You can do that on PS but it's much more difficult (in my past experience)
