Raids / Re: Ross' Raid team
February 02, 2014, 11:42:50 PM
Half (more than half? maybe?) of our group joined other groups that literally never bothered attempting it.
That's not exactly keeping the strat tightly knit.
The only thing that we are hiding is the boss of 235. And that's for suspense.

The strategies already exist.
There should be no reason for a second group to take an additional four months.

I would like to point out that an approximate total of 61+ hours have been wasted trying to beat this impossible raid because Allie is unwilling to admit defeat. I know it is an amazing goal to shoot for, but meanwhile, the rest of us just gotta sit back and watch as one small fraction of the community tries over and over and over to beat it. She should have nerfed it a long time ago, and just kept this version as "raid mode hard" or something, so she would still be able to prove that it's beatable. But srsly, if you guys don't beat it today, that's yet another week that the rest of us have to wait to even bother trying to beat it...

I'm not trying to be harsh, cause I understand why you guys are attempting such a massive goal. But I can't help but be a bit fed up. I think quite a few others would agree with me....

Attempt it yourselves.
We're not the gods of BC. We're a raid group who are actually trying to accomplish something.
It's not our fault you're sitting around waiting for a nerf. Try the damn map.

Well sorry, but nobody else is capable of bringing together such a team of players. The only logical day to raid is Saturday, and you guys already have all the best players in your team. Heck, you and Ross even know the entire layout of the map.

To top it off, half the community lags too much to survive, because of their distance from the server or internet connection, so that limits the number of iseable players significantly. Even players with good connections can lag like hell on raid.

Basically you're the only team capable of completing it.

My WoW raid days are Tuesday and Thursday. Don't tell me Saturday is the only day.
Multiple of our raiders have applied to, and been willing to raid in other groups. We do not hog the "best players".
Lag is a non-issue if you have a good strategy. Ross stood in slot 1 for 4-5 months of weekly raids, and he has never not been R until yesterday. Do not complain about lag.

You make no good reasoning as to why we are the only group attempting this content. The only answer is that you and everyone like you want raid to be as easy as sector, and that's simply not what it is. I don't even want to nerf it, but alas all of you who can't or won't attempt something harder than punch for 30 seconds need to complete the content aswell.

sigh
You are the reason WoW's raiding community is dying.

Who all will be on the raid team?

We will be expecting Ross, Allie, Med, Exp (temp), Legacy, Speedy (I think), and RK (maybe).
I'm expecting to require a few temps to fill in, so if you're interested, apply on the thread.
We'll most likely be needing a patch or two, and a ram when experiences leaves.

Oh, put this in here too, for a reward to come up someones gotta get a certain amount of pk's and mk's. Good luck w/ that. xd.

That *literally* promotes farming lol.

The feature *was* successfully completed, but Kenny was holding it off until the skin group finished.
However, the skin group disbanded and stopped working. Not sure what kenny plans to do with it.

It's not fair to give everyone rt2 after beating it once and you know it.

It is fair and you know it.
If you make an eight man group and complete it, I will happily give your group the RT2 set instead of ours.
Stop being ignorant presumeably just because you're not getting the set. There is nothing unfair about justly rewarding players who are completing content while it is difficult more so than those completing it after it's been nerfed.

The map has taken us between three and four months of weekly attempts to get this far. At this point, I have recognized no one else is interested in such high difficulty gameplay (not to say more difficult is the wrong way to go), so those who have went above and beyond to complete the map should be rewarded justly.

When we complete it, it will receive a nerf to make it still difficult, but possible for players who aren't hardcore voice chat raiders like we are. That said, I find it entirely valid for those who completed the challenge pre-nerf to receive the item before those who do it post-nerf. Our strategy will be commonplace for those after us to complete it, and I'm sure many of the initial eight who receive RT2 will be helping others to achieve it aswell.

I am not seeing your issue. You're either intentionally being illogical because you are not one of the eight, or you're suggesting players who complete an (incredibly) difficult map pre-nerf deserve the same reward as those who complete it after a drastic nerf.

Either way, we'll be moving on to raid 250 on to RT3 the week after, so we won't have time to complete it another 15 times to gear everyone up. That said, victors of the pre-nerf version, we would be able to complete the nerfed version perfectly fine, which, in my opinion, warrants a reward that allows us to skip it.

Also, laxus, the first nerf actually drastically lowered hp/damage of most of the mobs.

Also, there's something called a timer.

Which has been used forever in BC's past.
Our XP system for BC is a complex formula based off timer, mobs killed, and players killed. It was ruthlessly farmed to the point we had to nerf it and put base xp at a disadvantage.
