It's part of the event if you haven't tried it yet. You collect candy from the event map by killing the bosses. He also has a slight chance of dropping a miasma head.

Receiving candy gives you a random item and for every 5 candy you send you get a reward as well which can be anything ranging from armor, coin items, or a rare limited item.
