It drops 1-3 boxes. Not sure about 4 boxes. Maybe, but very rarely

Are you sure it dropped 3 boxes?

I'm pretty sure that if 2 people get a box at the exact same time, both players get the item even though there was only one box. (Notice how both players obtained heads from the box)
