no it's not. there's like 80000 scenes in the original where pokemon get held down and smacked up by other pokemon so they cry hard. and i watched the first ep and nothing 'dark' happened in comparison

ive never seen anything in the original pokemon (I've only watched, though I've watched every single one, up to the end of johto journeys) where a pokemon was held down, screaming in a humanly scary way, and shown an actual glimpse that it's actually killing him.

Red was so scared he immediately withdrew charmander. if that were to happen in the original, ash would've been like "come on charmander, get up!', like he did in the episode with the stray charmander that had to avoid the rain. It gets darker when you see the rest, and you missed a lot of key points if you didn't see anything in the first episode.


nyway, looked it up. 2 are subbed atm.
