I guess that people got bored  and quieted, guilds became inactive, eventually activity slowly decreased to what it is now..

after getting maxed and/or getting all the items you wanted (basically feel accomplished) and it's nothing else to do, it gets really boring and people quit

I'd say activity's realistically been dwindling the most since 2014. Season's still a huge factor though. I haven't hopped on myself for an actual session for a couple of years, really. The Bots server is doing better.

actually the last update, not counting events and bug fixes, was 1 year ago.

Dang that's depressing. This game used to be the ish. I never thought of it coming to an end. Always thought I could check in every once in a while and talk to some old friends.
