So I have recently bought an Iphone from Ebay. I got if for cheap so wasn't really caring as to the details at first when purchasing it. I read the description and it says it's a CDMA iPhone so I did some research and I know what CDMA is and everything like that but I bought the phone from the US.

From what I could find is that there is for sure no way for it to be possible to unlock the phone and I understand this.

So my question to anyone who knows is, will it work in Canada? I've sifted through pages and pages of people asking and others answering and there was no definite answer. If you know its possible or have done it yourself please explain it to me. Thanks! :D

I think if you take it to an apple store they can restore it and stuff and clear the password or if you call them they may be able to help you clear the pass.

Um the CDMA really doesn't have to do with any password. Maybe you misunderstood what I was asking. CDMA is a type of networking that is used by Verizon, Sprint and AT&T it restricts your phone to a certain company because there is no sim card that is accessible. It uses a series of numbers and/or letters that contain your number, name etc.

Oh yea i read wrong and i think that at&t works with virgin mobile so they could probs switch it over for you. Because i remember they did something like that for me.

CDMA phones are going out of style, man. To my knowledge, there's no company (or very, very few. Maybe Telus in Canada) that carry CDMA phones. Most come with a sim (and newer phones are making micro-sims more popular)

That kind of phone would probably be worth buying if you lived in Europe or maybe Asia where there are a few major cell phone brands that still carry it, but they'll end up switching over to GSM because it's cheaper for them and more effective for a customer.

Yeah I researched this stuff and there are 2 companies that carry CDMA phones. Bell Canada and Telus mobility, What I should have asked is will the phone work on other carriers of CDMA and how?

If it says unlocked then yeah it should work with any CDMA network. Since CDMA's have no sim card, I believe you have to go to a telus/bell retailer and they link a phone number to your phones ID or w/e.

And as it says in the forums there is a slim chance that it will work. Thanks for the help ^-^
