Dubstep is really popular because it's something new (kinda) and there is a large variety of it... you can find some nice to relax to or go hardcore and jam to it (my favorite )!

The same can be said about almost any genre of music. =/

Tech N9ne - Technicians

This is one of the few dubstep instrumentals I've heard that I like but that's mainly because of the actual song. Dubstep can be fun to listen to when you're stoned I guess but other than that, I'm not too big on the sound. Someone showed me a couple instrumentals that I really liked though, there was some heavy g-funk influence so that made them all the more enjoyable to hear.

I'm not much of a fan when it comes to electronic-ish music (techno, dubstep, etc) but to each his own.
