I've found an increasing number of people that enter the game as new players and see someone go like "Selling _________ BS Only!" and the first thing they do is go like "Wtf is BS?" So I thought I'd make a little explanitory guide to some of the words used in bc, evo, and the like.
Patch, Ram, and Surge Patch, Ram, and Surge are different bot types, each of them having their con's and pro's, we will not be going in depth on what those are, but I will explain what their base stats are.
Patches are a slow moving defensive type of bot, it's base stats are Critical, Trans Attack, and Trans Defense. Critical is the ability to knock your opponent very far with one blow, it usually occurs at the end of a four hit combo, and is more likely to occur the more Critical you have. TA or Trans Attack will be explained later in another section. TD or Trans Defense is a stat that will increase your defense towards trans'd opponents the more you of it you have.
Rams are an average moving trans type of bot, it's base stats are Trans Gauge, Special Trans, and Trans Speed. TG or Trans Gauge will be explained later in another section. Special trans is a stat that will allow you to trans into certain sector bosses, it will only work if you do not have a trans pack equipped, and is more likely to work the more of it you have. TS or Trans Speed will increase how fast you trans up after hitting Z, the more of it you have the faster you will trans.
Surges are a fast moving Attack/Speed type of bot, it's base stats are Evade, Ranged Attack, and Speed. Evade is a stat that will allow you to dodge hits by being shielded by a yellow orb, but while in this orb you become vulnerable, the more evade you have the more you will evade. RA or Ranged Attack will be explained later in another section. Speed is a very straightforward stat, the more of it you have the faster you are.
1k "k" is not really a BOTS specific term, but it is used a lot, so I should explain it. "k" is just a short way of saying "thousand" so when a person says "1k" they mean "1,000."
Gigas Gigas is the most common form of currency in BOTS, and due to that it's primary use is buying things from the in-game shop, it is not commonly wanted on the player marketplace because of how common it is. It can be used to purchase armor, shields, shoulder parts, transes, mercs, minibots, ef's, guns, and certain special items I will explain later
Coins Coins are the second most common for of currency in BOTS, they are more treasured because they can buy special items such as transes and mercs.
TA, TG, and RA TA, TG, and RA are all short for types of stats, they are some of the most commonly referred to but misunderstood terms. All three of those stats are affects by BS, which will be explained later on.
TA is a stat common to Patch, but attainable through flags, and minibots; it is short for Trans Attack. The more of it you have the higher you will damage a trans'd (transformed) opponent.
TG is a stat common to Ram, but attainable through mini-bots, shoulder parts, and EF's; it is short for Trans Gauge. The more of it you have the longer you will stay trans'd once you have trans'd.
RA is a stat common to Surge, but is attainable through shoulder parts and minibots; it is short for Ranged Attack. The more of it you have the higher damage your gun will do.
BS BS is short for Botstract, botstract is a special form of in-game currency which also has an affect on your stats, the affect it has works like this:
QuoteFor every 1k bs you get a 1 point stat bonus, with a maximum stat bonus of 3k points, to reach this limit you need 3 mil bs, stat bonuses differ based on bot type, Patches are given TA (Trans Attack), Rams are given TG {Trans Gauge), and Surges are given RA (Ranged Attack)
BS is gained when you defeat an opponent in a normal match of PvP (Some tagged games also give bs) little pink, yellow, and blue packages pop out of their body; this is bs. It can also be traded/gifted, which is often the case recently.
Guilds Guilds are groups of people that have joined together under one name, maybe with a common purpose such as being rank 1. You must be level thirty to create a guild, but you can be added to a guild at any level, at the discretion of the guild leader. Once you are in a guild you can gain GP or Guild Points, by winning games of sector; the more gp you gain the higher your guild will rank up. Of course some guilds are not interested in ranking up, there are social guilds, pvp guilds, and even base guilds ;p. Guilds start out with a fifteen person limit, but can be expanded to fifty, using Expand-Guild items which will be discussed later.
Transform Coupon, Stash, Combination Coupon, and Expand-Guild These four items are all the items under the "Special" category in the shop, they have different effects then other items in that they don't specifically raise stats in anyway.
Transformation Coupons allow you to change between the three bot types discussed earlier, Ram, Surge, and Patch; all armor you are wearing at the time will change stats according to what the bot type you picked was, along with your appearance. This is useful when going between modes like Sector, PvP, and Base.
Stash items allow you to buy more stashes, which are essentially extra inventories. Non-Members have a max number of three stashes, while Members can have a full five.
Combination coupons allow you to increase the strength of items by combining items of the same type. For example say you have three FirewallTD(+1) (Which is an arm item for Patches) a combination coupon would allow you to go into the special tab on your inventory and combine those three +1 arms into one +2 arm. The coupon only works on items that are of the exact same attributes (bot type, armor type, and item +) it also only works on non-coin item armor items.
Expand guild allows a guild master to expand their guild by five players, it only works to the max of fifty members, and will do nothing for a member of the guild, only the leader.
FM, Mod, GM , vGM FM is the term for "Forum Moderator" in-game, they have no powers in-game (as far as I know) but may be contacted on forum related issues.
Mods are the secondary power in-game (Not including admins) they can kick and mute those breaking rules. They have green text.
GM is the term for "Game Moderator" and are the primary power in-game (Also not including admins) they can ip ban, ban, kick, mute, and other assorted things. GM's have orange text which can be global.
vGM isn't a viable term in BC, but in the past (and maybe in evo) they had those called "volunteer Game Masters" these were well known members of the community who volunteered to become GM's, and had the support of the community.
Whisper Whisper is the term for "private message" in BC, these messages can only be seen by the person they were directed to.
Room Tags Room Tags are text that can be put in a room name to cause certain effects, they can be found in-game through a command. An example would be {gmo} which allows only guild members in a room.
