yeah i got photoshop and have no idea on how to make sigs with it. could someone help me out with a little advice on how it works.

Look up some tutorials. Like BEGINNER tutorials. http://sigtutorials.com
C4Ds are images that help give your sig a little spunk.

Just try all the tools out. Get a good feel for how things work.

As Nuc said, tutorials are gonna be a big part of your learning, especially at the beginning.

It will feel very boring learning the basics, but you will need to start somewhere.

As for the background,

Assuming you already have your empty canvas (File>New)

Just grab one of the tools on the left and start filling it up.

Some key tools are the brush, eraser, and paint bucket tools.
