Actually it is a glitch, Ross found out how to replicate it in the past, causing Ross to be invisible during the BvB match. (Besides the loading bar for the revival.) While you are in that state, you can't be hit by normal / special attacks, but can be hit by a gun attack. After you die, you return back to normal, but you can always just replicate it again.
