I've recently seen that players need to be out of a game and in the lobby in order to report hackers or rule breakers, I find this method to be inefficient and wastes precious time. I'm proposing the function to call mods/GMs while in a game/game lobby.

I had a think to see how this could be done, and I came up with two ideas:
1. There is an option added to the chat options (such as "All" and "Whisper") which when selected, anything the player types into the chat will appear to all online mods/GMs and only mods/GMs, it would be easily distinguishable from regular chat (Simply by giving it a colour not used by other chats.) and when a player talks in it, mods/GMs would see it something like this:
[Sector: 1 | JackLewis] Hacker1234 is using Infinite Health Hacks.
This way mods/GMs don't have to waste time questioning what room or gamemode they're in, they can respond almost instantly.

2. A button is added into the corner of game lobbies and games in progress (Or it could be set to a key on the keyboard, such as F7) which when clicked will bring up a dialog box (Similar to the dialog box when you add a friend) where the player can type the reason/nature of the report. Once the report is submitted, mods/GMs will see the report as described in idea 1. Another feature of a report button could be that once the report is submitted then it automatically takes a screen shot and saves it to the screen shot folder, so if the hacker/rule breaker gets away or stops what ever they're doing before a mod/GM gets there, the player should already have a screen shot of the person in the act. (I believe VALVE have a similar system for this in Team Fortress 2.)

Either way, I think that my suggestion will improve the efficiency of reporting hackers and rule breakers.

Regards,

- Jack

EDIT:

If the function is abused:

So what I suggest is that if you do abuse it in this way or in another way you will be warned/banned yourself.

Your first idea isnt bad but second one isnt that practical in my opinion and u always will have noobs who start talking at the report chat against mods or gms with questions or just about stuff that isnt supposed to be spoken over in that chat. But it isnt bad only their also should be a option to ban players out of that chat so they dont mess up the chat anymore.

Doesn't sound that bad of an idea.

Would help a lot, and would be neater for them to get the problem solved.

Idea 2 > Idea 1

As people would spam Idea 1.

Love the idea! But people will abuse it, say if someone didn't like someone else they would just do it and it would be a waste of time for the GM/Mod's time. So what I suggest is that if you do abuse it in this way or in another way you will be warned/banned yourself. The command should be similar to the @lobby command but instead would be something like @hacker or @Gmmod. The reason for this is so that people don't spam it as much.

or how about

@staff

lol

medchiller

Yes, thank-you Cooky. @staff would be a much more suitable command.
