One kill will earn you around 30 carats. 30 carats for a whole 3 rounds that will take around 5 minutes for the whole game. Let's say you played for 24 hours and we'll pretend that no loading occurred and the rounds never stopped. 5 x 12 = 60 A whole hour so 30 x 12 = 360 carats. Then multiply that x 23. You've made around 8k for the 24hr period!

Ar you srs nub? If you multiply it by 23 that is for 23 hours. Last time Ross checked the math book 1 x 23 = 23 not 24. You need to multiply it by 24, for a full 24h period. 360 x 24 = 8640.  ::)

Considering I already mentioned the first 360 carats you earned for the first hour, common sense would tell you there are only 23 more hours. Thanks for trying to be smart about it though.

Wat grade are you in? If that is where common sense gets people Ross does not want any of that crap.

23 more would be addition, not multiplication. Like Ross said before 1 x 23 is not 24, you need to multiply it by 24.

ex: You gain 360 carats per hour how many would you get in 2 hours?

360 x 1 = 360, that does not seem like 2 hours worth, seems like 1 hour worth.

What about 3 hours?

360 x 2 = 720 nope, that is only 2 hours worth. Why?

first hour you get 360, 2nd hour you get another 360, 3rd hour you get another 360. Thus 360 + 360 + 360 = 1080 aka 360 x 3.

Thus going from this it seems you multiply how much you gained in the first hour by the total amount hours you will be playing. So since we are talking about a 24 hour period you multiply it by 24, not 23. ::)

360 + 360 + 360... Do that 24 times. >_>

Ross,  quit trying so hard.
Since you already have the time of the first hour,  your equationwould  be 360x + 360. Sorry that for me algebra is 20x  more likely to come on my head then basic math. Our thought processes are different. We still end up with the same answer so stop crying about it.  Your head is full of air and you're beingoblivious to  the  fact that the math wasn't the main purpose.  Sometimes it's better to just not post at all  about  what  you're  thinking just to try to make someone look bad without going over every vital detail.

"your equationwould  be 360x + 360"

Wat? 360x +360?

"360 carats. Then multiply that x 23." Which is not correct as that is for 23 hours. Either you got it wrong, or you left out a part of "your math." You should have learned in school to show all your work.

"We still end up with the same answer"

Nope.

"You've made around 8k for the 24hr period! "

360 x 24 = 8640, last time Ross checked that is around 9k not 8k.

" without going over every vital detail."

Ross went over every vital detail.  ::)

In the end you are wrong. If you make 360 Carrots per hour for 24 hours that is 8640 Carrots, which rounds up to he nearest 1000 as 9k. You said 8k.

360 is the base number, so ofc you're going to add it at the end.
I do not show all of my work because I do not have to. Apparently, someone here doesn't know much about application problems and how to approach them in different scenarios.

leaving out your work is horrible in terms of math, if you are going to leave part of it out, then don't even start showing the math.

"without going over every vital detail.'

Same goes towards you.

Btw, kinda stupid on how much excess amount of work that you did. Why multiply it by 23 then add that 360 when you can just multiply it by 24? But oh well, but sure you can do it your way, except if you do it your way and there are different ways to do it, at least show all your work, math is not a guessing game on how you did it, which is why you show ALL your work.  ::)

Nonetheless your final math is also incorrect. You said it was "You've made around 8k for the 24hr period! " Which is wrong as it rounds to 9k. If you think about it since 360x23 = 8280 and you said it was about 8k it would be logical someone would think you simply multiplied it by 23, and never added that 360 base number which you did not show. If you said it was 9k and not 8k then it would make sense that you simply did not post all your math, as 360 x 24 = 8640 ---> rounds to 9k, not 8k.  ::)

Yeah, let me remember to show my work for the people on forums who really care about it.
I'm sorry that I have you butthurt about the one thing that's precious to you in life, math.

And I said it is around 8k. The act of rounding is to portray that something is about a certain number.

Anything in between 7-8k and 8 - 9k is around the number. About is being more precise about the number that I am coming across.

If I would've said about 8.7k, would you consider that to being wrong as to saying around 8.7k?

Saying around does not fix or change anything about a rounding mistake. You rounded down when you should of rounded up to make it more of an accurate answer. However rounding it to the 1000's is wrong anyways as it was whole numbers.  ::)

As for the around part, that is why you have the squiggly = sig, however yet again it does not fix a rounding mistake.  ::)

LOL classic Cooky post, there he goes again. Stop trying to create drama with Ross, lighten up.

" These spam topics of you trying to prove someone wrong "

To be fair, it was originally in the topic Zom posted, but Allie moved it to spam  due to her interest in Zom's topic, and Ross requesting it gets moved. Even though it fits as an on-topic post.

Bringing up the squiggly sign proves that your saying ~ is equivalent to the word around. Thanks.

Your example is completely blowing the whole thing out of proportion. It's not even around that number.
Go ahead and look up the definition of around as well

Your last part just basically agreed with everything I said. It could be worse. Thanks for that.

"However yet again it does not fix a rounding mistake."

You are supposed to round to the closest possible number. Aka the reason why this exists: "Ff equal to or greater than 5 round up, if less than 5, round down."

Also who is to say that Ross' example is blowing it out of proportion? Where do you draw the line on it? 31340 is not really a big number if you think about it. 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999.

The it could be worse was for RF. You post had little to none effect on Ross on thinking BC is actually a nice place to be, and that the economy and players are nice, by simply comparing it to a place that is worse.  ::)

Lose 3 limbs would be a horrible, but going with the sense of "it could be worse" is completely stupid and would not really help that person who lost 3 limbs. In the end he still lost 3 limbs, and in the end BC is no where near a great place to be. You posted in your topic that nubs in RF has to stay back, well it is the exact same thing here. Ross does not see how your would suddenly give people more hope for this game simply because "it could be worse."  ::)
