They can have a massive influence, but from personal experience, I'd have to say they don't dictate feelings.

And it all depends on the person's preference towards genre.
For instance, rap music makes me want to party.
Love songs make me feel lonely.
Religious music makes me ponderous.
Emo music gives me a headache.
I'm sure all of you react differently to these genres.

nah cause most love songs are about the girl or guy leaving them but still classify as love song (confuses me that it is a love song after they get dumped)

for me my fav music is the anthem style of music you know songs that you can't help but like and are like really good and like have to sing along it has that effect on me
