Can someone help me with Devil May Cry 3 On Vergil?!?!?!?

Im not sure how to pass mission 11 when ur in Altar of Evil with Vergil because u need to jump onto spear and jump up but it seems
impossible to do that.

Im already looking at a guide from http://au.faqs.ign.com/articles/686/686566p1.html but it doesn't say anything about Vergil jumping.
