well I wanted to play BOUT again after a long pause and I keep getting the same error:

So, up until recently I've managed to launch this without any errors, although...now it appears I've encountered this error upon clicking start in the launcher client, I haven't re-adjusted anything or modified files.

I've attempted to run as administrator/ in compatibility mode. I've also uninstalled Boutcheetah and re-downloaded the client itself again and reinstalled, I've read numerous threads about how it'll be fixed if you redownload the client, but I am yet to succeed.

Here is the error that occurs upon starting up:

Debug Assertion Failed!

program: C:\Zylon Gaming\BoutCheetah\bout.dat

File: fseek.c
Line: 101

Expression: str != NULL

For information on how your program can cause an assertion

failure, see the visual C+ + documentation on asserts.

(press Retry to debug the application)

after pressing retry the same error keeps opening time after time...

I tried a lot of things like disabling antivirus, update stuff, etc...

nothing works ...

EnergyCell

i remember fseek was a internal code, try disabling your antivirus.
i had this before (not going to brag about it).

After disabling antivirus, did you try also disabling "Smart firewall"?
Doesn't seem like you put that you tried repairing the client either via. the launcher.

well no I haven't disabled the "smart firewall" where can I find this?

also repairing through the client causes the same error and even completely unistalling and deleting everything and downloading it again doesn't work...

I wouldn't ask me if i tried. Also depends on the anti-virus software you have? but it should just generally right click and be next to your anti-virus/above it. But if not i recommend either dropping Santa a pm, and installing team viewer in advance and/or try downloading something like cleanup or smartpcfixer can't remember what software i used. Which will help repair most things on your pc after doing a complete scan. Some of the things this may do include:

Repair Debug Assertion Failed Problems .
Repair JavaScript / Scripting Errors.
Repair Internet Explorer / Active X Errors.
Repair C++/EXE/DLL/OCX/INF/VXD Errors.
Repair System Registry Structures.
Defrag Disk.
Repair Dll Error.
Repair 50+ Common Windows Error.
Repair File Extensions.
Optimize Startup Config
Optimize System Service
Update Windows
Clean Registry
Clean browser Histroy, Cookie & Temporary Files
Protect Privacy
Optimize PC's Performance.

http://boutcheetah.zylongaming.com/index.php?topic=17319.0. Just incase you didn't try looking there, to see if anything matches up with what you're dealing with. I personally used ADW Cleaner, which worked for me, without causing any issues. (Not for this case though). Lastly if nothing else works try install the latest version of "Direct X"
