it will be fun watching the internet go down. maybe then we can start a real life.
SOPA won't resist much longer. Thousands of websites started protesting against SOPA, wikipedia, mozzila and over 7000 websites are going through a black out as a protest against SOPA and PIPA. It's always weird to see how we can all unite if there's something that threatens us.

the government wont care if websites protest, the ones that protest are the ones that were probably in danger to be shut down to begin with lulz
its like this:
thepiratebay protests SOPA
SOPA laughs
SOPA passes and shuts down thepiratebay
might i add, most private servers will be shutdown if it passes, including this one (if they issue a SOPA Shut down or w/e teh **** its called)
One way or another there's so much hypocrisy out there. The USA pointed at China and they way the censor everything and now they're doing the same but on a whole new level that affects almost every website.

yes but this is the united states, slaves used to be legal, and not even frowned upon by the government. now slaves are very very very very very very illegal and everyone in government frowns upon it. it's the same thing now, to be honest they should have passed a bill like this long ago. the music and movies business will be mega booming after this gets passed.

Well, you do realize those free porn websites get their videos from paid porn websites. The only reason why they host it for free is because they make a killer off ad revenue. Since the actual people who made the porn videos own the copyrights to the videos, they will force them to shut down once this act passes. Though, there will still be paid porn available to you users, which will probably go extremely high in price. Might I add, if this passes, the end of youtube, google, everything google related will probably be shutting down.
i feel shitty now
Maybe this is actually the end of the world as we know it :'(((

well obviously there will probably be shit backed up in archives, and we'll have to go through that shit if this passes.
I mean websites will always have a backup plan. It's the internet. We have the smartest and dumbest people in the world.
kenny/santa is clearly trolling

SOPA / PIPA won't even help the economy, it will shrink it. It will kill some of the most important resources we have. SOPA totally ****s everyone except an extremely tiny sect of people.

BC won't be shut down.
SOPA states clearly that it "allows copyright owners permission to contact an ISP and force shutdown any given website if it is believed to contain copyrighted material".
N-Log is gone.
No one has the copyright to the game.
Even if OrangeGame has it, I'm sure they're too stupid to figure out how to shut us down.
if SOPA gets pass... END OF ZE WORLD I SAY
It is so being overdone..
SOPA will be basically the same as the DMCA in most cases however a force shutdown.
It'll mean youtube is shutdown, megavideo, etc, but things like BC won't.
Private servers of existing games that actually are going somewhere might.
Expo won't be going. Nor will Enigmata. Under the DMCA we could've been sued already. Did we? No.
It won't be the end of the internet. It'll be the end of most communities on the internet, possibly making it return to its original state (the internet was created for research and learning purposes only).
--I will let it be known that I am an extreme anti-SOPA person. However you're all overexaggerating SOPA's power. I've followed it since early December.

1/2 of all google's services can harbor piracy, that means that at least a part of google's services could be shutdown, having instant and easy communication is what makes the internet what it is today, without it we're just a bunch of loners o-o. I hope the piece of shit bill gets struck down and rewritten to actually make sense
@Kenny: You seriously think congress wouldn't care about complaints from the biggest internet giants, and most of the U.S population, whether they actually know anything about it or not

So what are the chances of websites like facebook and myspace etc getting shut down if SOPA passes?

Personally I don't care, If we lose socializing in the internet, I can get back to my normal life easier.
If it doesn't then I get to talk to happy people online.
Yep.
SOPA was claimed to be redrafted today. The announcement came from Lamar Smith himself.
It's probly a lie, but whatever.
from what i understand is SOPA can shutdown a site if a user on it posted something which is copyrighted
if that's the case then technically they can shut down anything without any trouble ...
WTF is SOPA ? aka The American Government trying to ruin the internet (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhwuXNv8fJM#ws)

It has poorly made laws so they can virtually and physically shut down anything for any reason whatsoever.
