How do u think the world will become in 2050 with the new inventions and stuffs?
how will the pc's and mob's will be or will there be something more amazing than that invented?
imagine how awesome game's gfx would be
Our phones will be more powerful and faster than the computers we have today.
We will be able to make food out of 3D printers.
Both of these will probably happen long before 2050 but still cool to think about.

We will all be fat and lazy in the future, I can see it now. What a wonderful future this planet will have.
we can make flying cars easy its just too hard to incorporate them into our society especially because a) they will be extremely expensive and b) because they are so expensive, only less then 5% of people will have them.. so why spend all the money, resources, and time incorporating a 'roadway' system for flying cars?
I mean, there has to be a system with rules you cant just let people fly cars all around
there would need to be routes in the sky (like roads) for people with flying cars to travel in, there would need to be cops with flying cars.. etc. it would just be such a massive undertaking to implement flying cars into our society that I don't think it will happen anytime soon

yes and all this was expected to at least start (construction of these kinds of "lanes") in 2015ish by 2020 but not happening

I always think in this way:Work and focus on your present rather than wasting your time and thinking about the future.
We should think and imagine about the future, it helps the inventions and developments.
People like Bill Gates have imagined and predicted how the technology is now from their past which became correct. You should try reading his books, it's really great.

Realistically, I'd think the standard for cars will be like 100mpg for new vehicles (it's at 35mpg ATM in the US and is about to rise), but most commuters will most likely be motorcyclists or have self-driving micro-cars due to traffic standards.
Extreme weather conditions due to pollution and ozone degradation
Cure for aids and several forms of cancer, but new super anti-biotic resistant strains will emerge due to overuse
Technology will probably lead to the introduction of Solid State Drives capable of storing memory in the Petabyte range available to consumers with 16gb Ram cards being the cheapest standard going up all the way to 128gb
Just a guess ;D
Yes :o but that means a majority of all crops and fresh food will be genetically modified in order to combat over population.

QuoteThe Google project team has equipped a test group of at least ten cars, consisting of six Toyota Prius, an Audi TT, and three Lexus RX450h,[14] each accompanied in the driver's seat by one of a dozen drivers with unblemished driving records and in the passenger seat by one of Google's engineers. The car has traversed San Francisco's Lombard Street, famed for its steep hairpin turns and through city traffic. The vehicles have driven over the Golden Gate Bridge and around Lake Tahoe.[4] The system drives at the speed limit it has stored on its maps and maintains its distance from other vehicles using its system of sensors. The system provides an override that allows a human driver to take control of the car by stepping on the brake or turning the wheel, similar to cruise control systems already found in many cars today.[3][15]
In August 2012, the team announced that they have completed over 300,000 autonomous-driving miles (500 000 km) accident-free, typically have about a dozen cars on the road at any given time, and are starting to test them with single drivers instead of in pairs.[18] Four U.S. states have passed laws permitting autonomous cars as of December 2013: Nevada, Florida, California, and Michigan.[19] A law proposed in Texas would establish criteria for allowing "autonomous motor vehicles".[20][21]
In April 2014, the team announced that their vehicles have now logged nearly 700,000 autonomous miles[22].
latest and higher-class cars have so many sensors and electronics systems to be considered very close to self driving
and we are talking about stock cars, not a group of test cars

how are they close to self driving? you have to have your eyes on the road at all times and steer the vehicle, accelerate, decelerate, etc
even a blind guy was able to travel to work in google's self driving car, I don't think all the 'sensors and electronic systems' of todays cars are going to come anywhere close to that capability. you literally don't have to touch anything.

-cars that can park themselves (they
steer on their own)
-distance sensors and braking systems that brake automatically at a certain distance are growing to higher speeds (up to 50kmh atm, which is city speed)
-many cars have: antisleep, anti lane-crossing, cruise control, light sensors, everything. so yeah cars
are close to being self driven w/o google's test car
-plus the more and more advanced automatic shifts, electronic controls such as abs
obliviously actual cars arent pushed to the limit, but for the average driver the above stuff eliminates pretty much all the possible downsides/difficulties of driving. a whole automatic cars like you is for extreme situations and cant be referred in a normal situation imo
Agree with iri, if you could program destinations and stop light recognition most higher classed cars are basically self driving with their proximity censors that over-ride user controls in the event they begin to sway out of a lane or come too close to a vehicle.
but most self driving cars are just prototypes at that and the problem of mass producing them would be having to train people to over ride the system in case of a malfunction or emergency as well as having an interlinked traffic light and driver to operator data base in the event a child is stuck in a car alone without an adult.
also, i would never ever drive an automtic car. the only electronic controls i'd like to have on a car are security controls (must be able to disable them) and of course no automatic shifter ::)
yes todays cars do have a lot of automatic featured like iri listed, but I still think its a bit of a stretch to say that todays cars are to be 'considered very close' to self driving cars
just my opinion
if self driving cars are produced and used commonly, will there be:-
license required for driving?
kids like "Ooo yea i'm only a 10 yr old kid and i can still DRIVE my dad's car!!" ?
Just saying, 100% self-driven cars from point A to B, are already a thing, like, that's already been invented and made.

or simply his parents will be careful and avoid letting the kid take the car? perhaps like it have always been.
this is why we cant get a clear prevision of the future: we cannot keep simple concepts that way and we abstract even the simplest aspects.
quick example: we (meh) get all excited about an automated car, hoping that soon cars will drive automatically and we (another meh) underline how the google team has made many miles with an automated car and a blind man was able to "drive" one; yet we don't know that the combustion engine that moves the majority of the world's car is more than a hundered years old and that the major development in the car industry has been made in that field - not in electronics or all the kinky stuff attention is focused on thesedays.
