So, last night when i replied, i was drunk and tired, but i decided to post some songs anyways, so you have a general idea.
Note: All these songs, -all rock from back in the days-, have extremely good lyrics, lyrics that actually add up and make sense.
Compared to what music is being produced nowadays, god i wish music like this would still be made as frequent as back then.
Note: The
yellow colored songs are the most important to me.
Green Day - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGzgoSg5OZgThis is without a doubt the biggest song of my teenagehood.
I listened and sang along out loud for hours and hours with my best (girl) friend when we would go to the beach at night and just, listen to music.
Linkin Park - What I've Done.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sgycukafqQSame story, this song also reminds me instantly of all the great moments i have shared with my best (girl) firend.
Three Days grace - animal I Have Become.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqds0B_meysThree Days Grace - I Hate everything About you.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8ekz_CSBVgFunny story. The moment my first ex dumped me, i listened to these songs on my way back home. (rainy, and dark outside)
I couldn't listen to these songs again for 2 years, cause they reminded me of her. After 2 years, i thought to myself, **** the world, and i listened to them again, since then, i can get so much strength and power just from listening to them.
Lostprophets - Rooftops.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-z5FWlUN1goAnother song that reminds me of my best (girl) friend, but for another reason.
She was going through a dark period in her life, and one night when we were out, she just collapsed.
I supported her, stood by her side when nobody else would, and i carried her home.
This is the last song we both listened to before she collapsed, and now everytime we listen to this, we both think back of that time, and how good friends we were/are, and what we've been through together.
Lostprophets - 4AM Forever.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYzfRfN7RFoThis might actually be that one single favorite rock song i have.
No specific memories with this one, but it's SUCH a beautiful song, with SUCH meaningful lyrics, that it just makes me think of the past. There's such power in this song.
Yesterday I lost my closest friend
Yesterday I wanted time to end
I wonder if my heart will ever mend
I just let you slip away
4 AM forever
Maybe I'll never see you smile again
Maybe you thought that it was all pretend;
All these words that I could never say
I just let them slip away
4 AM forever
Why don't you hear me when I'm calling out to you (to you)
Why don't you listen when I try to make it through (to you)
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, you never know
Hold a little tighter
4 AM forever
Maybe one day when I can move along
Maybe someday when you can hear this song
You won't let it slip away
4 AM forever
And I'd wish the sun would never come
It's 4 AM and you are gone
I hope you know you're letting go
It's 4 AM and I'm alone
Why don't you hear me when I'm calling out to you (to you)
Why don't you listen when I try to make it through (to you)
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, you never know
Hold a little tighter
Why don't you hear me when I'm calling out to you (to you)
Why don't you listen when I try to make it through (to you)
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, you never know
Hold a little tighter
4 AM forever...
Billy Talent - Red Flag.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XAn5Gbrcs4Just an epic song from my childhood. I discovered this song by playing SSX3 on the Playstation2. Been one of the greatest rock songs I know since then.
Papa Roach - Hollywood Whore.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjQvk_R20r4Another amazing rock song, from my childhood. The first time i went to their concert and they played this live, (i stood at about 5 metres from the stage), i screamed along the entire song, people around me were looking at me in a weird way, my throat hurted and i had a headache afterwards. That's how much i loved that song back then.
Fischerspooner - Emerge (Junkie XL Remix).http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WbXxkSBBgoThere's nothing much to say about this. You either love it, or you dislike it.
Personally, i discovered this song while playing SSX3 on Playstation 2 again, I have heard it at very few parties, but when i do, it's just a very tiny bit in some remix, but i swear, as soon as i hear this song, the dancefloor is ****ing mine. Childhood song right there.
Sorry for boring you out, I'd be surprised if you actually listened to all these songs, and read what i typed alongside.
Anyways, enjoy (:
