Hmm, not sure what we can do about this issue right now, but it shouldnt affect the game much, but you won't be able to use windowed mode.  Correct me if i'm wrong, but your game still opens right, after the splash screen crashes?

Okay, you shouldnt really see a issue with anything, its probably just his pc or he is missing a windows update, but I've tested the splash screen on both x86 and x64 machines, worked flawlessly.

Yes, but you won't need to install anything probably, only if the client crashes when attempting to open it.  Does your client crash when you try opening it?
