I'm not "trying" to be nice, I simply like encouraging  people. I'm certain someone would rather get a honest response then a rude discouraging one.
Just saying something is ugly is rude. You may see it as ugly, but i see someone making an effort to make something for me and I'm grateful. I'm sure If I tried to make a siggy and someone called it ugly, I would feel bad. Seriously, how would any of us like it if we were doing something we like/enjoy and someone comes along and says "you suck/ that's awful" about anything we do. I'm guessing not that good, unless your're a masochist.
