Heres my problem.

So, my laptop is experiencing some type of unknown problem and I've tried everything but restoring it (which I don't want to do)

So heres the problem

-Computer turns on, nothing happens. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Lights on, fan runs, CD tray opens.

Heres the funny thing, it will OCCASIONALLY turn on, but you have to leave it on, let the battery run out, charge it, leave it for a few hours, then it will turn on. How weird is that. >.> So yeah, any tech support would be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Cooky

you contradicted yourself twice which makes it really hard to understand what the problem is

Pokeh

Try pressing the safemode key repeatedly when its turning on

I'm on win 7 home sp1

@poke. Didn't work.

It sounds to me like the embedded video chip on the motherboard needs to be reset with a heat gun.  But, I could be wrong.  Your best bet would be to take it to a cheap laptop repair place.

Did you try turning it off and then on again?

Thanks kenny. The thing is I don't want to take it there because they're gonna end up restoring the computer, (don't want that)

Does your computer give you a beep code when you turn it on?  It's definitely hardware, in some instances your wires can be worn and shorting. You might get lucky and it will turn on during some power cycles.  That would be your monitor otherwise santa's idea is also a good idea.

I'm guessing you haven't tried opening up your laptop, but you could at least get some advice from a repair shop if you lack any kind of troubleshooting skill. Most of the ones in my area will at least tell you what it is before you pay them to fix it.

^No beeps nothing. Might as well go to a computer repair and have him troubleshoot it
