Just change the opacity 

perhaps you're misunderstanding the point.
before we legitimately did not have the ability, it'd be white or black or sometin if you try to make it transparent.
can you test this on a not-flag.
like a shield or sometin

transparency has always been available for shields/shoulders, wings, and flags.  triplater, for example.  iirc the feather effect of raptor wings is due to transparency.
