The tutorials on the main page suck,go on the forums at the section: Tutorials , there are alot of epic tutorials that you can use.

If you blended the text a little more with the sig; becayse it stands out abit much, then it will be ok i guess

Make the text blend with the rest of the sig and it would work; and yeah; i agree to whoever said you should follow more advance tuts. Seems like you've got the hang of the basics.
