I'm here still. I just don't like talking to anyone anymore (socially awkward). I do my best to make sure the game stays online, I have been doing some work on the website believe it or not, as the website was having ssl certificate issues mid-last month. The only other person from bots-era i talk to occasionally is Matt aka redshadow (he graduated college a few years ago and moved away from Texas to Florida and got a job in the IT software reverse engineer field). If any of you still wanna talk, lemme know in PMs. Boutcheetah and bots will probably remain online forever even if not many people play or noone plays, just for the nostalgia. It's almost self-maintaining atm. I would like it to grow again but even if updates were released it would not liven up the game any as everyone has grown up and no longer likes to grind like before most likely. If enough people want events back, I will work on adding that again. Other than that the game is kinda in a acclaim status (no updates) without all of the server crashes from us.
Edit:
So what have you all been up to the past few years?
Oh so you fixed the ssl errors. I want to personally thank you for that, as I had to use google chrome instead of firefox every time I wanted to open the forums.(I very much dislike google chrome)
As for the events, please do it, even if they're small events, as long as there is something actively going on players will be grateful. There's only a handful of loyal players now and then that still play it, some people that return every few months to play and then go back to hibernation (i.e. me), and even (surprisingly) a couple new players and they deserve to be somewhat rewarded for sticking around after so many years. And who knows, some events now and then might just draw out some people out of the shadows.
Even just having you and Allie posting on the forums, or logging in the game once in a blue moon gives people hope that this half dead game still has a glimmer of hope. To be honest, I hadn't seen you or Allie online in more than a month and I thought for certain that the website would just go offline one day and we'd never hear about it again. I thought you'd forgotten about it, and it became just another failed side project slowly drifting into the void. Now seeing both of you post in this thread, and seeing that you still care about it is just great.
The only fun I've ever had, and ever will in this game is PvP. Most notably holodeck/hoverbyte. Short rounds, easy kills, and every game is somehow different, even after more than 17k games(christ, that's a lot of games). Sectoring is boring as it's the same levels/monsters every time, and once you find the perfect pattern to clear the level asap, that's the only thing you'll do. And I'm probably not the only one to think like this.
As for whats going on in our lives, you guessed it. We all got into highschool/college, we all grew old and bored of this game, and we all grew very tired and busy. The little free time there is left is dedicated mostly to real life. But we're still here, some of us more often than others, but I can bet that the old players still check these forums once every few months, only if it's just to see if their childhood game is dead or not.
