The "trolling" that was happening still contributed, but at the same time was just an opening for hundreds of useless replies. The arguments were on-topic but were crammed with off-topic statements that would just lure other people into arguing with the off-topic stuff.. plus like I said the debate was basically just everyone saying "we dont want this we dont want that". That's not rly a debate.

It was not a debate thread. No mod debated with us. It was a feedback thread. And what do you mean, it would lure people into arguing with the off-topic, stuff? It was clear what they were trying to do...

Mods lock threads for 2 reasons:

1. They can't debate with the player base so they need to get the last word by locking.
2. They're power hungry.
3. Their is no reason for said thread.

Yup, 2 reasons.
That thread was a rant transformed into a joke by people like you.
I gave a final warning to everyone to stop mocking the thread, but you continued to reply in the same way.
Why would the thread not be locked?
People like you would keep replying with stupid reasons only to look cool, stupid reasons that wouldn't be taken into consideration, making the whole thread spam.

You're directing all this at me, why, I don't know. I directed it on you because after my warning killerpig stopped, instead you continued posting in the same way.

Because you're a mod, and it's your job to be able to access the situation and react accordingly. Labeling those posts as mocking the thread, saying that those reasons were stupid and that they were posted only to look cool, saying that a few posts makes a whole thread spam, saying that those reasons wouldn't be taken into consideration when you have yet to address why the reasons are flawed...

I don't think this is a good showing that you can do that.

To sum up my answer for this entire thing, whether you agree with it or not, it was locked for a good reason in our eyes and if it was me I would have done the same thing. We don't really HAVE to give our reason for locking it to you, but we saw the thread as a dead spam thread. Also, yes Ian said the thread was for debating, mods aren't here to debate with you. I think you guys need to read each others posts before you try and correct mine...

Is it not common sense to label posts like "i think pig should be censored because vegetarians might find offensive" or "Selene should be censored too because it's the name of a porn star" as mocking, as useless, as stupid?

a tl;dr it's just a thread. Staffs opinion is that it was time to lock it, ur opinion is otherwise. Don't tell people their opinions are wrong, you won't get anywhere.

The situation in question (regarding inappropriate names) is a decision that we've gone by for years, however only recently have been strictly enforcing. Given this, we are fine with you guys talking amongst yourselves, but if it's going to be a serious thread regarding the situation, than I expect all seriousness.

The thread which was locked was spammed by people who took it as a joke. As the thread itself was a rant, and everyone in the thread was taking such rant a joke, it is not worth my or anyone's time to bother argue about it. Any logical person rightfully understands why such precautions to inappropriate names are taken, and I can't agree more on each and every one of our censors. Our censors are not an opinion.

I met a seven year old playing BoutCheetah yesterday. He's level 221 and he's been playing for months. Have you ever heard a seven year old in real life who curses and knows everything about sex already? I have, but I'm not going to support teaching it to them in my game, for one less of those kinds of kids, and one more of an actually productive child is more beneficial (as well as better for the reputation) to (of) our game.
