So it may or may not be well hidden (I've given a ton of clues and even flat out mentioned) that our next update is coming.
And it is big. I am here to prepare you all for the new update.

We have been spending the last couple months studying our new engine and our new capabilities. We have been using these capabilities to make game changing updates that will be live in just a few days (discussed lower in the thread). You guys have shown me your potential, and I noticed your interest in the raid maps. You guys came together as a community with multiple grinding groups for Hackenn Ruins.

We am pleased to say that within the next few days, two new 8p raid maps will be released. These two raid maps are incredibly difficult, and will require a very coordinated group of well geared players to complete (note that this patch will buff Hackenn Ruins to remove grindability). With this, the 1p of Hackenn Ruins will be removed, but replaced with a new solo fight that will definitely challenge your potential! While it has no rewards, it is possibly the biggest breakthrough of a fight we have discovered, and we can't wait to see you guys complete it (if you can get anywhere near its completion). Details on this fight will be revealed on patch day.

To commemorate these new raid maps, we will be increasing the level cap to a large 270 for members, 225 for non-members! This will allow all non-members the chance to access the first tier of raid, along with all the current content for all members. Meanwhile, members get to go for the near-impossible challenge of the 113M 270 cap!

In addition to these raid maps, we am tweaking the gearing scale. While it will be the same challenge to get to Elektra+7/T3, getting gear above Elektra will require running the three raids - Hackenn Ruins (221), X (235), X (250) (hidden for spoiler). The items received from this mode are untradeable, and only one box will drop per map. However, this raid gear is far superior to your standard T3 overload -- while it doesn't give the 40% XP bonus, the 250 raid gear will increase your power by (up to) 4! Worry not though, because in PvP scenarios this gear will cap down to prevent overpowered raiders.

But a major discussion I am here to talk to you about is simple, where do we go from here?
The patch is but days away, with only ends to tie up. This is a big step towards my vision for this game, but I'm not making it alone. Seven different people took part in this update over the last month, from mods to raid design. But seven people do not speak for the entire community. This big change will require a lot of big feedback. After this patch, we will be closely monitoring your feedback, and we want all of you to give as much as you can.

And, as a poll, we are (were) currently debating in staff what to do after this next patch. Updating as is, all you members will have the option to grind as much as you can, but the highest sector will remain at 239 (Jura's Requiem). After this patch, we offer you two options, and I'd like the community to voice its opinion. Both options are viable, and one or the other will be released in the next patch (likely with some other stuff added).

First, we could add four new sector maps. Specifically, level 231 (Kyura's Requiem), level 258 (Gora's Requiem), level 264 (Ryura's Requiem), and level 276 (Zeon's Requiem). These sectors will give experience following the pattern I set out for the rest of the levels. It is important to mention that raids will no longer give a significant amount of xp reward. These will follow suit similar to how Jura's Requiem was, however the difficulty will be toned down significantly (due to raid mode declared as the game's primary challenging content).

Alternatively, we offer you a base update. This update will consist of a new rankings system for PvP and BvB, merc and mob rebalancing, aswell as a couple new maps with the ability to have multiple bases each! That's right, your team will each have more than 1 base, and your goal is to kill all of your opponents bases, rather than one. Following this path will shift focus off sector for awhile, allowing adequate leveling time.

We await your feedback! Please let us know where you'd like to see this game in a few months!

I would focus on the sector part first. If theres gonna be a lvl 270 cap, we need more sector levels in between 239 and 270.

That base update sounds really great, cant wait for that! Glad to see the game is going to continuously be updated. Does this mean the whole factions update is no longer in development? Has it been cancelled?

Why not both? Do one and then start working on the other. Those are both fantastic ideas and I would hate to see one get thrown away just because another got more support.

The next patch is free game. The patch after will be shifted (most likely) to a largescale sector revamp. We simply do not have an infinite amount of time or the amount of workers a professional company has to work on multiple projects at once.

Anyway,

I am really concerned at how overpowered bots are going to be with this new gear, especially surges. They are just going to be too fast and have too much evade.

What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks Allie and the others whom contributed to this update i am sure it will good for Boutcheetah and the many players :)

Right away it feels like you're moving away from challenging content for people that play alone, which annoys me a bit.

Also trying to force these maps that (supposedly) require a lot of coordination doesn't seem like it's gonna work. With such a mechanically basic game I don't see why people would ever need to be on a chat program like Skype to complete anything within the game.

If you didn't mean it would require coordination to the degree of needing a chat program then it probably won't require any coordination at all, besides a bit of pre-game talk within the lobby.

As for the level extension, I wonder just how long you can keep extending the levels before you have to reset it / people get annoyed and start to quit.

Interesting to see how things go with the update though, may just come on and check it out.

^**** im special xd

All secondary stats are exactly as they are on T3. The only things buffed at hp, att and atttrans.

I'm feeling you there. However, I am adding some (albeit unrewarding) solo content that is challenging. If I make solo content that is rewarding, it will reward primarily hackers and hackers alone. Unfortunately, thus the case with such a game as this.

We have heard that before. 1p and 8p were both pretty much 'solved' within a week and we have had people solo 8p and lvl 1's completing 1p. Whys it going to be different this time? As purple said, the game has such basic mechanics.

That's great news.

All this talk about 'unrewarding' challenges is making me confused. Why would anyone play them?

People would play them for challenging content. I expect ross and some others like him to attempt it at the very least. I don't expect anyone of them to win though.

And I added complex mechanics. The game itself is simple, but with a bit of a push, it can be made..less..simple.
Also, I made some mobs not able to be pushed, period. This means in Hackenn Ruins, Xabaras will need to be killed (along with the other main mobs). Along with this, and a possible (still debating in administration) nerf or removal to leech, Hackenn Ruins will be working as intended (hopefully).

I would suggest making it so completion of this level shows up in everyones chat, and completing 1p and 8p no longer does. Because pretty much everyone hates it.

Good stuff.

Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions.

This sounds like something really big and amazing with all those new maps, more raids for the users that are up for the 8p teamwork and new gear (which i guess is going to be made by meteor  ::)) that could replace the ugly elektra.
Also new god levels (for sector) is something that sounds really cool.

The only problem i have in this whole patch is the level extension, i felt like 221 was to high already, not the exp but the level. 221 just looks like a way to big number to reach. increasing it to 270 just isn't going to work. What i would've done was increasing the exp required to level up instead of making those higher levels. it might take a longer time to level up, it gives you a better feeling to reach a high level because you worked for it. imo levels 1-200 won't mean anything after this patch it will just be like lvl 1-172 now which isn't really something you have to work for (a max for 2 weeks to get?). In bots you had to spent atleast 3 months to reach the max level, it took me 1 year to reach max lvl in bots and even tho it took so long it was fun to reach because there was a challenge which i am missing in boutcheetah.

I like the idea we need to kill Xab , but how is the gear going to lookk like and since their wil only drop 1 box each round makes the gear super rare ;o ! Allie i think this is a great update..

I think one of the big points of this update was to give people who are max level something higher to shoot for. Increasing the experience needed for 221 isn't going to affect all the people who are already lvl 221, and it would have been a pointless update for them.

Well this update is going to make it very very hard to reach max level
