The password encryption goes like this:SHA1(tolower(username)+password+random salt)Since the username is encrypted into the password, changing the username will render the account useless unless we change the password aswell.

But, if the user does not check his or her email, they will not know the new password. Which is why I ask for their password, so I am sure they will be able to login to the new name.
