That's YOUR opinion. We lock threads that have gone to shit ie even to the point the thread maker is spamming. There was no point in it being there, it was just constant spam and trolling to the point you stopped caring.

The situation in question (regarding inappropriate names) is a decision that we've gone by for years, however only recently have been strictly enforcing. Given this, we are fine with you guys talking amongst yourselves, but if it's going to be a serious thread regarding the situation, than I expect all seriousness.

The thread which was locked was spammed by people who took it as a joke. As the thread itself was a rant, and everyone in the thread was taking such rant a joke, it is not worth my or anyone's time to bother argue about it. Any logical person rightfully understands why such precautions to inappropriate names are taken, and I can't agree more on each and every one of our censors. Our censors are not an opinion.

I met a seven year old playing BoutCheetah yesterday. He's level 221 and he's been playing for months. Have you ever heard a seven year old in real life who curses and knows everything about sex already? I wanted to make this topic because I was frustrated with the way things were handled in that situation, and I saw that this kind of thing wasn't exactly uncommon. I wanted to see if this was a community that I could actually be a part of. But...

I'd say no. I'd say that I could not deal with the moderation being so petty, immature, and just plain mean for me to be invested in any sort of community.

Your stance on whether or not there should be a name filter is an opinion, like it or not. Being able to codify that opinion does not make it valid and does not provide any justification for your argument. Any logical person understands that they need to back up there points with evidence and logic, not just say that they are correct. People in the thread did care for a long while, and no matter how much you'd like to pretend that every single post was spam and that no one was taking anything seriously but the OP, there's actual evidence in the posts themselves that show that this is demonstrably wrong.

You did not want for me to understand your "reasoning". The only thing that you provided in that regard was, "I'm right because I'm right, and we don't want more of THOSE kids around," which is pretty bereft of logic...

Most of these posts, correct me if I'm wrong, have the justification of, "We can do whatever we want, and we will, and you won't change our minds." If you want to run your game like that, feel free. But I do not feel like it is an environment particularly open to community involvement or friendly to it.

To sum up my answer for this entire thing, whether you agree with it or not, it was locked for a good reason in our eyes and if it was me I would have done the same thing. We don't really HAVE to give our reason for locking it to you, but we saw the thread as a dead spam thread. Also, yes Ian said the thread was for debating, mods aren't here to debate with you. I think you guys need to read each others posts before you try and correct mine...

My points are not intrinsically tied to his. They are not legitimized or debunked based on what he says. Our posts, positions, and points, while similar, are not the same.

Is it not common sense to label posts like "i think pig should be censored because vegetarians might find offensive" or "Selene should be censored too because it's the name of a porn star" as mocking, as useless, as stupid?

You said that I labeled the whole thread because of a  few posts, yet more than half of the thread was filled with posts like those.

They're mocking, yeah. Useless? At a certain point, when multiple people just used those comparisons as the sole content of their posts. Stupid? 100%.

But woah, woah, woah. They're reasons are stupid? Stop right there, mate. Their reasoning was that offense is subjective, and that's solid. It should be taken into consideration, and I argue that it is one of the stronger arguments against this decision.
